Mixed Prints Article for the Financial Times

This summer I wrote a piece about the trend of wearing mixed prints for the FT. It ran in this weekend's paper. What--or rather who--inspired me to write the piece was neither the First Lady (seen above, an avid fan of the aesthetic) nor the multiple designers who showed the look for this season, but my own four year-old daughter, who had taken to pairing a favorite red and blue striped shirt with butterfly print leggings. There were other combos: a pink tutu with madras plaid; polka dots with paisley, etc. etc. The effect was as joyful and surprisingly harmonious as the recent collections from Miu Miu, Milly, Tory Burch and others.
